Privacy Policy
Campus Clubs is a private, invitation-based alumni community app provided to universities, alumni associations, and clubs ("your institution"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & contact details — name, last name at graduation, email address, phone number, and password.
- Profile information — biography, profile photo, current job, career goals, accomplishments, LinkedIn URL, undergraduate and graduate schools, class/graduate years, and field of study.
- Location information — current city, state, and country, and one or more addresses you choose to add (a US ZIP code may be used to auto-fill city/state/country). Approximate location is used to power "Who's Nearby" features.
- Affiliations & interests — golf clubs or other club affiliations and their locations, GHIN/handicap or similar membership details, and whether you are open to mentorship.
- Content you post — events and outings you create, registrations and RSVPs, comments and messages on events, and news you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — screens viewed, features used, searches run, and actions taken in the app.
- Device & log data — device type and operating system, app version, IP address, and diagnostic/crash logs.
- Push tokens — a device token if you enable push notifications, used only to deliver notifications.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How we use information
- Create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- Operate core features: the alumni directory, search, events and outings, news, mentorship, and the team store.
- Show your profile to other approved members according to your institution's directory settings and your own visibility choices.
- Send transactional messages (event confirmations, approvals, password changes) and, if enabled, push notifications.
- Maintain safety and integrity — review registrations, prevent abuse, and enforce community and institution policies.
- Diagnose problems, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. How information is shared
- With other members — your profile (name, photo, location, affiliations, mentorship status, and similar fields) is visible to other approved members through the directory and member profiles, subject to your institution's settings and your visibility choices.
- With your institution — administrators at your institution can view member and registration information to manage the community, approve members, and run events.
- With service providers — vendors that host the app, store images, send email and push notifications, and provide error/usage analytics. They act only on our instructions, are permitted to use the data solely to provide their service to us, and are contractually bound to protect it to a standard consistent with this policy.
- For legal reasons — when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Your choices & rights
- Access & update — view and edit your profile, location, affiliations, and mentorship status at any time in the app.
- Visibility — adjust what appears on your profile through the app's privacy settings.
- Notifications — turn push notifications on or off in the app or your device settings.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent (for example, push notifications or optional profile fields), you can withdraw it at any time by changing the relevant setting, removing the information, or contacting us; this does not affect processing already carried out.
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and associated personal data directly in the app at Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required by law or your institution's recordkeeping.
- Regional rights — depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, and to object or withdraw consent. We honor these requests as required by applicable law and at no charge.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service to your institution. When your account is deleted, we delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and secure credential storage — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
Campus Clubs is intended for university students, alumni, and adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Campus Clubs after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
